Kids and Guns
Produced by: Maria Hinojosa
Two 17 yr old students gunned down by a fellow 15 yr old student in the hallways of Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, NY. Not an uncommon occurrance in East NY, an area where families share their community with drug dealers. Living in an area with the city's second highest murder rate, kids have no protection against the violence that surrounds them, other than toting guns. In this neighborhood, a three block walk to school could be deadly. Producer Maria Hinojosa examines the reasons behind Kids and Guns.
